The Gelo di Anguria Tart or Gelo di mellone rosso as it is called by Palermitans is an enhancing combination of a delicious fragrant short pastry dough and a jasmine scented Sicilian watermelon.
It comes from the ancient tradition of “gelo di anguria” confectioning of Santa Rosalia’s festivity.
It is a summer dessert, perfumed by scents with an Oriental taste.
